Position Description

The RPA Controllers monitor and manage Bots and automated processes on the Northern Trust’s RPA Platform. Review process support documentation, troubleshoot issues, communicate with process owners and continue to improve support processes. The Controller will maintain the schedule, manage automation release schedules and capacity of the bots, as well as facilitate the success of the support team by working to improve processes and tools used by Controllers. The Controllers are part of the Automation Competency Center and ensure that the automations added to the Platform meet standards that will ensure efficient support.

Essential Job Functions

  • Monitor and manage Bots and automated processes
  • Provides RPA support or technical support services typically in a defined moderately complex project
  • Conducts a wide range of technical analysis to troubleshoot RPA performance or execution issues
  • Reviews system requirements and business processes; coordinate infrastructure installation, and implements software solutions
  • Analyzes software support requirements
  • Supports infrastructure and platform with users during development, user acceptance testing, and production
  • Manage environments, release automated processes to various environments and support post implementation
  • Maintain/update documentation of RPA processes and Platform management
  • Monitor and manage RPA Platform
  • Support releases and testing of automated processing
  • Manage Bot users and integrated applications
  • Maintain Controller schedule
  • Lead support team by providing assistance and guidance to Controllers as well as facilitating the team s success

Minimum Requirements

Required Skills

  • Good organizational skills, to schedule processes, monitor resources, and log issues.
  • A basic understanding of business processes. Capable of analysing a process.
  • An inquiring mind, good at problem solving.
  • Good inter-personal communication skills – able to explain issues to a Blue Prism expert and follow instructions accurately.

Required Experience

  • Operations or IT system support experience
  • Experience leading a support team or enough experience working on a support team to be qualified to lead
  • Experience and aptitude for training and guiding support team members
  • Database knowledge and SQL experience
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills

Nice To Have

  • Willing to become proficient in RPA modeling with Blue Prism
  • Experience with some or all of the following: Splunk, Web Services (REST and/or SOAP), Web application development (HTML/CSS/JavaScript)
  • Experience with RPA and/or Test Automation
  • Knowledge of Software Development
